Melvin M. Mark, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the Pennsylvania State University. He has served as president of the American Evaluation Association and as editor of the American Journal of Evaluation. He has received AEA’s Lazarsfeld Award for Evaluation Theory. He has conducted federally funded evaluations, including evaluations of prevention programs for at-risk youth, federal personnel policies, and industrial modernization, and he has been involved in evaluations of state and local programs. An award-winning teacher, he has published numerous papers and chapters on the theory and design of evaluations.
