Leslie Fierro, PhD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Evaluation at Claremont Graduate University (CGU). She has worked in several sectors as an evaluator including the private sector (as an evaluation specialist at Deloitte Consulting and as an independent consultant with Fierro Consulting, Inc.) and the public sector (as an epidemiologist and evaluation capacity builder at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)). Her primary disciplinary focus in evaluation is public health, however, she has also performed evaluations that span disciplines—venturing into education and evaluation professionalization efforts.
Fierro is the incoming Co-Editor In Chief for New Directions for Evaluation (January 2018) and currently serves as a co-chair for the American Evaluation Association’s Research on Evaluation Topical Interest Group. She is passionate about conducting research on evaluation that helps to build the nation’s collective capacity to perform high-quality evaluation.
