Robert Klitgaard is a University Professor at Claremont Graduate University. He was formerly Dean of the Pardee RAND Graduate School and a professor at Harvard and Yale. In 2024, ScholarGPT named him one of the top 50 scholars in the world in lifetime research in three areas: corruption (28th), policy analysis (42nd), and exploratory data analysis (48th). Also in 2024, he received the Anti-Corruption Excellence Award for Research and Education from the Government of Qatar and the United Nations, an award that has been compared to the Nobel Prize for Anti-Corruption. His sixteen books include Policy Analysis for Big Issues: Confronting Corruption, Elitism, Inequality, and Despair (2023) and Using ChatGPT in Graduate Education: A Beginner’s Guide (And We’re All Beginners Here) (2024). His book Tropical Gangsters was named one of the New York Times’ Books of the Century.
