TEI helps professionals improve their knowledge and understanding of evaluation fundamentals, theory, approaches and use. It is for learners seeking to further develop their skills and to add credibility and prestige to their practice. Practitioners trained at TEI are better equipped to:

TEI faculty come from a range of backgrounds. Some are among the most sought-after speakers in the field. Some are cutting-edge researchers looking into practical issues that face evaluators today—or that will affect practice in the near future. All have many years of practical experience in the field, as well as a solid grounding in the theory and methods of evaluation.

TEI does offer Early Bird Discounts and other special Group or Multi-Course discounts. Guidance on Early Bird Discount codes and dates can be found on our program pages. Note that discounts cannot be combined and are not automatically applied at the time of registration.

On occasion, we offer special discounts to partner organizations. If you are interested in exploring a partnership with TEI, please contact us at tei@cgu.edu.

Please note that we cannot retroactively apply any discounts without charging administrative refund fees. If you have any questions at all about how to apply any special discounts or how to access early bird rates please contact us at tei@cgu.edu.

Participants who need to cancel their program registration will be offered a credit (less a $200 processing fee) that can be applied to any future TEI workshops.  You can find more information about TEI’s refund policy here.  Please contact tei@cgu.edu if you have a special circumstance or any further questions regarding refunds and credits.

TEI has a long history of offering programs around the country, most notably in the Washington, DC area and on the West Coast. In some instances, TEI has joined with major groups (the Centers for Disease Control, the American Evaluation Association, and others) to offer on-site training tailored to a specific site.

TEI is part of the Claremont Evaluation Center, based in Claremont, California.

TEI programs generally take place from one to two weeks in length—but individual courses range from one to three days. This means that you can come for as long a training period as fits your needs.

After successfully completing a TEI courses, participants receive an acknowledgement of attendance/completion signed by the course instructor and TEI’s Executive Director.  Acknowledgement of attendance/completion is given at the discretion of the course instructor, but generally requires that participants attend at least 75% of the course.

To establish their professional credentials, many TEI participants decide to pursue one of TEI’s certificate programs. These program, including our CEP and CAEM, require 30 days of training across particular areas of study. See our Certificate webpage for details.

The program’s affiliation with Claremont Graduate University has further enhanced TEI’s recognized leadership in evaluation training.
